Thermocouples offer the advantages of fast response time, a wide measurement range, and they are relatively inexpensive.
Thermocouples can be made very small and can be customized to fit directly onto the surface of components for more accurate measurements.
However, thermocouples have limitations; their accuracy can be compromised if the object being measured is electrically charged or if there is an electrical leakage in the equipment, and in severe cases, it could even damage the thermocouple thermometer.
