2024-05-02

Description:
For issues such as the instrument not being able to connect or USB cable driver errors, the following methods can be used to troubleshoot.

Applicable Products:
DTM-315/ 316/ 317/ 318/ 319/ 319A/ 321/ 322, DSL-331/ 331A/

When the software displays a "Not connected" error or the device manager shows a driver error, please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Step 1.

Check the Device Manager interface to see if the cable driver is working properly.

If there is no device under the (COM & LPT) item, or there is a device but the driver is incorrect, please continue with the following steps.

If the COM item shows a Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge device as in the image above, but the last (COM3) part number is greater than 4, the software will only scan up to COM4, so it will not be able to connect to the instrument. Please manually modify the COM number, paying attention to potential conflicts caused by duplicate numbers.

Step 2.

Download and install the driver

The default installation path for the driver is "C:\SiLabs\MCU\CP210x\Windows_2K_XP_S2K3_Vista"

If the user has already completed the driver installation, skip to step 3. Otherwise, please install the driver first.

Step 3.

Configure the driver

In the Device Manager, click [Update Driver] to enter the driver configuration interface.

a. In the driver installation interface, select [Browse my computer for drivers].

b. Then select [Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer].

c. In the Select the driver to install interface, click [Have Disk...] in the lower right.

d. Click [Browse...] and specify the folder path C:\SiLabs\MCU\CP210x\Windows_2K_XP_S2K3_Vista on the C: drive.

e. Select the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge driver and click Next to complete the driver installation.

Step 4.
